Life Training

Today I was able to return to my job after being gone for more than a year and a half. I can honestly say if it wasn’t for the Life Training program I would not be able to do this. I was so engulfed in fear and poor self esteem I couldn’t even imagine ever returning to the work I love. But the yoga community really has empowered me. The teachings are so enriching and encouraging. I know I have a LONG way to go but this step of having the courage to return to work and look to the future with hope is a true blessing. Thanks for all you do. I truly appreciate you and what you’ve created.

Always a humble warrior,
Fern

ps: I would love for you to share my story. I’m growing so much because of your training and one of the most important things I’ve learned is that our lives should be lives of service and that there are different branches of yoga! So thankful for the opportunity to do some karma yoga.

It’s so funny how I moved from coming to class so I could get into poses and now I come with anticipation for the talk. Something that I need and can carry with me. The higher knowledge is such a life changer! I have a VERY long way to grow but I can feel the heaviness lifting.

Life & Teacher Training

I’m a busy professional that has been practicing yoga to help deal with the stress of a challenging career for about 5 years now. I considered taking Life & Teacher Training for years before I finally signed up in 2018.

It’s helped me grow in so many ways already. My relationships with family, friends, coworkers and myself have improved greatly.

This training has been a powerful tool to help me take control of my mental health and addictions I’ve struggled with for years.
I would suggest this Life and Teacher Training to anyone looking to live to their full potential and take an active role in their well-being.

Yoga Rocks With Eric Paskel

I am so so happy I had the opportunity to work with Eric Paskel during the Yoga Rocks Retreat at EAU Palm Beach Resort & Spa.

Eric Paskel makes yoga fun, practical, edgy, and raw. He brought his high-energy style, rock & roll playlists, and awesome vibes. I look forward to hosting him again next year.

I attended his lecture class – Relationships in the Raw. It was on point perfect. All about relationships and how to begin, keep, and continue a healthy relationship with the self, others, and ultimately the earth.

Life and Teacher Training – Florida

Eric –

I want you to know that your teaching has had a significant impact on my life.  Not a day goes by that I don’t incorporate what I learned from you into my actions and thoughts (controlling the latter). I still have a long way to go, but would never have come this far without you.  I can make decisions faster, guide my reactions with more control (or at least with more awareness of the need for me to focus on this), see a clearer path, be content instead of being led by desire, and love more fully.  I jumped out of a 100 foot tree in Costa Rica on my birthday (with safety ropes – but still).  My family was amazed and I shouted down to them – I would never have done that if it weren’t for Eric Paskel!”. True story.

Thank you for helping me face my fears – and burn them!

Love! Suzanne

Testimonial – Yoga Rocks
I am a regular practitioner, who has been practicing for over 10 year
now.  I am always looking for something new to try out and Eric
Paskel’s -Yoga Rocks, just happened to cross my path.

This is a great, fast pace flow series that clears the mind, warms up
the body and gets the heart pumping .  It incorporated many yoga poses
into a smooth, challenging and very doable practice.
Eric starts with a standing breath warm up then into a down dog and
standing twist sequence.  The wide leg forward bend push up flow is
very satisfying.

Love the dancing chair and the squat/jump with one leg drop pushups is
awesome !!  Then we enter into a flying falling squat jump sequence
which is very core intensified.

The warrior series is challenging and includes kung fu squats, curtsy
squats, half moon and revolved half moon;  the moving warrior 3 series
is strong.  This finished off with archer, scissor kicks, chaturanga
upward and downward facing dog.

We start slowing down with a supported navasana (boat pose) then
twisting “boat”.  Finally ending with one legged forward bend twist
pose.   shavasana…..

Great job Eric!

Testimonial – YJLive – San Diego

Hi Eric,

I was in your 11 a.m. Yoga Rocks class on Sunday at YJ San Diego. I set
myself up in the back right corner of the room- and glad I did,
because you had me sobbing (a good cry!) by the end. I was so affected
by your class- physically, emotionally, spiritually. I am going
through a divorce- which brought me to this event- and when you said
“some of the worst things in your life will turn out to be the best
things” I knew I needed to be in your class. By the end when you had
us scream “there’s nothing wrong with me” that’s when I broke down!! I
just wanted to say thank you for the experience and for being so real
and open. You did something for me that day that I needed to
experience.

You were a gift and there was a purpose for me to be in that class.

TRUTH and VULNERABILITY

A few months ago I took a leap to do my second 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and chose to study with Eric Paskel Yoga. That leap turned into many other mental and physical leaps that not only transformed my teaching, but my LIFE. Sounds cliche and yoga-talk, but let me tell you, Eric’s training is like no other.

Lesson for life. Not just focused on how to sequence a class, or how to cue or make playlists, or assist, anatomy, all that stuff can be learned anywhere. What you learn at this training that stands out is a deeper focus on being your most true, badass, amazing, effin’ self, yo!

Philosophies, lessons, study, inquiry, lessons, exercises and activities to elevate you and wake you up to your true potential.

Eric Paskel has another LIFE and TEACHER Training in Michigan in August. If you’re looking to upgrade your life, teaching, and have an amazing experience that will also connect you with new lifelong friends, you can’t afford NOT to go to the training.

Testimonials – Soul Scrub class

Paskel’s verbal imagery brings this yoga practice to the inner workings of the mind and body. I was able to focus on each joint, muscle, and body part with a clear intention that he guided me towards. Not only were the physical workings in order here, but his spiritual guidance in finding mental imagery to assist in bringing peaceful, softening, emotions during the practice just made it all the more sweeter.

Adviser, cheerleader, and yoga instructor all in one, Eric makes you feel good about yourself and your abilities. There are days when I don’t feel up to standing poses but want more flow and muscle work than a typical restorative class. Today was that day, and this was perfect…. Namaste, Eric. Your class is life-changing and life-affirming.

Namaste Eric! I wished this class would have never stopped! It was just the perfect start in a new week. Especially after a weekend working in the garden my body appreciated the gentle, deep stretches. What I loved most have been your caring words of wisdom. Your voice is so authentic and I love listening to your inner truth! God bless you Eric! Sat Nam!

I loved the combination of opening the body as well as the mind and heart in this class. When you were having us hug our knees and talking about letting things go…releasing…I burst into tears! That was a surprise and an eye opener. I am truly grateful for that. Namaste

Testimonials – Mexico Life-Teacher Training and Retreat

Eric

I’m sure this is your 100th thank you since the training/retreat but you deserve it.  Thank you so much for a wonderful week.  I think this trip made me realize that I need to make the next step and do Life and Teacher training next year.  That is my goal. This was a great week and it’s amazing how I’ve seen you change peoples lives.  I’m thankful to have you in my life.

Hi Eric,

I wanted to thank you for creating the retreat experience and specifically for taking time to speak with me one on one on the catamaran.  I came on the retreat because I wanted to challenge myself to do something completely outside my comfort zone and start making some significant changes in my life.   As strange as it may sound, until my conversation with you about not living life in “isolation station”, I really had not thought it was important always try to be authentic in my interactions. That was a powerful experience for me.  Actually I am crying right now just recalling it.  I feel that was the beginning of a shift in my outlook. I just know no matter what, I am moving toward a better, brighter future.  So while I feel it has become a totally cliché to say, I know that the retreat changed my life and you in particularly, have played a huge part in that.  Thank you!

Testimonial – Wanderlust Festival:

Good morning Eric! Thank you again for the wonderful seminar on relationships. I was moving towards those ideas anyway from my studies in becoming a teacher. It really help lead me to a peace with where I am at and the work I need to do. I really enjoy the philosophy aspect of yoga. The devotion and the stories about Ganesh and Shiva. The principals of living and the eight limbs. I know you mentioned having a guru and spending time in India. What would be a good step for me, reading material, to start to move towards that self study? Thank you and have a beautiful day!  Thank you so very much for the Relationships Revealed class today at Wanderlust @ Snowshoe…Lots of great information and certainly lots to ponder. Looking forward to picking up the book (I prefer paper to e-readers!) Hope travels to your next destination went smoothly.

Testimonial – Bhakti Fest

Exactly one year ago today, at right around this very hour, I met Eric Paskel of Yoga Shelter. To be honest, I knew something was going to happen even before I took his class. As I walked from my tent at Bhakti Fest into the Yoga Hall, my eyes became wider, my vision more crisp and this voice inside my head just kept saying, “Clarity, Clarity, Clarity.” I didn’t know what was happening to me. I just felt like something was going to change. Something about how I saw myself was going to be altered. This is not some notion of hind sight or a colorful way of remembering it. This is exactly what happened. I know this because this is what I needed at the time. Some new way of looking at myself – the old way obviously wasn’t working.
That Yoga class changed my life. It changed it in the moment, pose by pose, breath by breath and funny axiom of Eric’s by funny axiom of Eric’s. Who the hell was this guy? What I got from that class was synthesis. That was my word from Bhakti Fest 2013, SYNTHESIS. You don’t have to be one way with some people and another way with others, you don’t have to dumb yourself down to be accepted by the masses, you don’t have to omit AC/DC from your playlist because it might disturb a few. Be you. Be all of you. Be all the seeming contradictions and inconsistencies. Be all the meditation and five shades of eyeshadow. Be the academic reader and the roller coaster rider. Whatever you think is some oil and water consistency is in your life is utter bullshit and clear evidence you are trying to FIT somewhere – somewhere conceived in your head, which is just fucking you over. The mind is a bitch! Just be you.
After that class I signed up for life training and Yoga Teacher Training with Eric and the team from Yoga Shelter. I shed all my bullshit victim stories, uncovered all the beauty within (still with a little lipstick!) and got really, really real and really, really fearless. I learned I was Real Tough and Real Love; and I learned to never ever, ever tell a lie again or believe one. I am me – the true me, which is total love. That’s all I am ever responsible for: love. That’s all I am ever going to have to do in life. I would encourage everyone to do the same – get free, get real, get to kicking ass in life and love like it is the air you breathe.

Yoga Journal Live – San Diego

Hi Eric. It’s Rebecca here from Tasmania (and Mississippi). I just wanted to thank you for your classes at YJ. I learn and grow (and even cry!) so much in your classes. So inspiring. Really appreciate your message and your expertise. Keep it up and let me know if you’re ever keen to come down to Australia to teach. You’d blow some Aussies out of the water! I also love your playlists. Is that something that you share? Great mixes. And I saw that you and Sadie are going to teach a class together at your studio. Man, sometimes I wish I was living back in SoCal. That’s awesome! All the best to you and your lovely ladies. X Rebecca

To Whom it May Concern,

Although I am normally a very private person, I am going to tell you about my experience with Eric Paskel, because he has made such a transformative mark on my life.  I first met Eric at a workshop that he led at Perennial Yoga and Meditation Center in Madison, WI on March 27-29, 2015.  I was drawn in by this teaser:

Eric Paskel is going to take us on a journey that starts with identifying where we are, where we want to go, and how to get ourselves there. This is a bootcamp for your Body, Mind and Intellect. You’ll be strengthened and lengthened both on a muscular and mental level. Discussions will include diet, relationships, communication and exercise and they will take us to the roots of all our actions. If you are willing to lay it on the line — physically, mentally and spiritually – you won’t be sorry. Come transform your everyday yoga practice into a transcendental experience and leave with a RENEWED sense of yourSELF.”

This was all true.  Eric inspired me to begin a path of renewal.  In fact, after completing his “boot camp”, I cancelled a major surgery for which I had already had my pre-op physical, in order to continue my journey with Eric. I signed up immediately to attend his Mexico life/teacher training workshop and retreat for 2 weeks in May.  To say it was a transformative experience is an understatement.

Due to a childhood trauma, I had not stepped foot in an ocean in over 45 years.  I’ve been all over the world with my family, and have always sat on the beach while they surfed the waves or surf boarded.  Through an number of mental challenges and exercises that Eric facilitated during his workshop, I was able to work through my fear of water, and not only go in to bodysurf the first wave of my life, but the very next day I actually surf boarded!!!  My family was absolutely floored to see the pictures of me with a huge smile on my face surfboarding.  My husband asked me if I was really his wife.

To be honest, I was headed to my lawyer to pursue a divorce before I met Eric.  He asked me to put that on hold until after the retreat to see how I felt then.  Unbelievable.  I am no longer house searching.  My relationship with my husband is flourishing.  All because Eric asked me to stay put and listen up.  Eric is a wealth of wisdom, and anyone lucky enough to be in his path would do well to shut up and listen.  Good things are to come because Eric will stick with you and love you through your entire journey.

Included in Eric’s workshop in Mexico were daily talks on Vedanta, of which the goal is for “the seeker to have the direct experience of his or her true nature, and it is held that each and every one of us is qualified to have that highest illumination, if we are willing to put forth sincere and intense effort.”

I learned a lot about having my addictions illuminated.  I had been ignoring the white elephant in the room.  With a lot of encouragement and help from Eric, I am happy to say that I am sober today and in active recovery.  Eric is the one who finally got me to pour out all of my alcohol by asking me if I was really going to “hoar myself for a grape”.  He actually scheduled a Skype session to be there with me when I actually did this.  Who does that kind of thing???  Eric Paskel.  That’s who.

Eric always says it like it is.  He speaks his truth from his heart.  Eric’s standards are very high, and that is why I respect him so much.  He is a beacon of Truth.  He is growing, training and overseeing the future teachers of Electric Soul Yoga at his retreats.

Finally, Eric is a rare jewel.  He sees the good in everyone, and I mean everyone.  He is always ready with a well-timed hug for anyone in need of encouragement or congratulations.  He has taught me much in my life of 54 years and I will always have a special place in my heart for him.

In Truth and Sincerity,

Pauline
